Dear Friends i am simulating cavity flow at Re=5000 and above. i am facing problem of plotting the small teritory vortex of the streamfunction at the bottom right corner , Although my result and other vortces looks similar to the results availabel. I am using tecplot. what should i do???. some one told me that you need to do some special treatment to your formulation at the bottom line, which i am not sure.

Also what shoud be the best boundary condition for pressure to get good convergence. i am using artifical compressibilty method.

Thanks a lot

I guess you need to refine the mesh. With finer mesh, you can get Tecplot to show the corner streamlines.

He doesn't give mesh numbers, so it could certainly be a problem of inadequate resolution in the corners.

Also, even if the resolution is adequate, the stream function values in the corners are small relative to the big eddy in the center of the cavity. Tecplot needs to be told to produce lines for small contour levels.

""Tecplot needs to be told to produce lines for small contour levels.""

How can i do it? however, I used from 129x129 t0 512x512, but fail to draw the small vortex. Intersetingly, when i used u,v to plot vector field, i get samll votex at the corner, looking for, but the figure not looking good.

I haven't had access to Tecplot for several years (too expensive!), but I do recall being able to set levels for the contour lines that are actually displayed on the screen.

Your resolution certainly seems good!
