hi me and my friends are using different methods to solve 1 d euler equation- the reimann problem. but al we get is a nan. since we had peer reviewed each, we just believe the problem is with the initial assumptions we made. we have taken the pressure and density to left of discontinuity to be 10 and to the right as 1. gamma is 1.4. dt is very small like 10-6 so we wouldnt have to worry about CFL requirement. Could some one tell me the major errors people make when first trying to solve Euler 1D and is the assumption I made ok? thanking you

What numerical method do you use for solvering the problem and after how many time units does it become nan.

i used Mac Cormack scheme. It becomes NaN after about 1000 steps i think.. the dt was taken very low 10^-6
thank u. |
