Default Bifurcation of the Navier-Stokes Equations

Hi Dear Friends,

I have seen in CFD literature the following: "Bifurcation of the Navier-Stokes equations". Can someone explain this to me?

Bifurcation means different solutions for the equation. It happens when the flow is unstable. Take a look at Drazin, P. G., "Introduction to Hydrodynamic Stability". First two chapters will give you the idea of bifurcation. Ehsan
