2D mesh export of an original 3D model

Hi,

I want to simulate a 2D axisymmetric reactor model in FLUENT. My first doubt is: Do I need to creat a 2D mesh in GAMBIT? Or is it possible to creat an original 3D mesh and then export only the 2D mesh to be used in FLUENT?

I tried the second option but got the following error while exporting the 2D mesh: "All mesh node must lie on the XY plane or a parallel plane within tolerence".

Is there a particular method to creat the 3D mesh so that the 2D mesh can be exported?

Thanks,

Yogendra.
