Boundary conditions for boundary layer flow

Hi,

What boundary conditions are generally used for flow along flat plate involving boundary layer ?
If I wish to keep the upper boundary not too far away from plate, (meaning, the boundary condition should allow the growth of boundary layer), what boundary condition would suit best ?

Also, if anyone could suggest some journals discussing these issues, or boundary condition for boundary layer flows in general would be of great help.

Thanks a lot in advance.

I believe this subject has been touched previously on this forum. Here is a link from a quick google search I did that uses fluent https://confluence.cornell.edu/displ...Boundary+Layer. Also, I have a strong feeling that flat plate boundary layer simulations are a benchmark/validation case and should have plenty of literature that are easily accessible with a easy google scholar search.

Thank you for the reply !

But the link you suggested as well as most others I come across all deal with far field boundary condition on the north side boundary, keeping the boundary at distances larger compared to boundary layer thickness. What I wish to know is what other kinds of boundary condition is feasible, which would enable me to keep the north boundary closer to plate, but won't affect the boundary layer growth phenomenon.
