I am new to this site and it might therefore not be the best place for this question.
I have been using finite element software for some time now solving CFD problems. Now I want to learn the basics of finite element modelling. It is my experience that you can best learn by doing something yourself, therefore I am looking for a simple online tutorial explaining the basics of programming finite elements. Preferably in fortran or c++. thank you |

Finite element is mostly used for analysis of solid objects, however it's used in fluid flow simulations too. so what are you going to do? if you are going to learn fluid flow simulation I suggest you to first learn Finite Volume and Finite Difference methods which are more used.
I don't know anything about FE methods but I can suggest Versteeg and Malalasekera book for learning FV. Patankar's book is very useful too. |
