whistling through a pipe

Hi guys

I wanna whistle through a pipe and analyse the acoustical behaviour. What sort of boundary conditions i would need to do that. How much pressure do you recommend I should apply at the inlet.

Can you please direct me to any reading material on the subject. Thank you

Interesting question. You suck a lot more powerfully than you blow. I think that humans can draw about 5" of mercury vacuum, and blow about 1/2 psi pressure. Haven't blown on an anemometer lately, but a velociy boundary condition on the order of 1 m/s seems about right also.

Thank you tim. I was thinking I should have pressure inlet at the inlet and specify a value for pressure. I am totally confused. How do I whistle through pipe guys??

If you have a need for pressure inlet, but do not know the pressure, you could run a test case where you specify the velocity and calculate the pressure drop.
