adaptive grids for compressible flow

i am currently using a unform grid in cell-centered approach to model a supersonic impinging jet. Does the use of an adaptive mesh complicate the numerical implementation considerably?

Re: adaptive grids for compressible flow

If you have an unstructured finite volume scheme, then no it doesn't matter, there's no change. If you have a structured grid, you must have the metrics transforming from physical to computational space, that's all.

Re: adaptive grids for compressible flow

Could you recommend some references for its implmentation?

Thanks
