Hi guys,

I wrote a code for calculating the incompressible boundary layer over a flat plate with pressure gradient. Now I want to simulate flow at an angle of attack by simply stating the velocity components parallel (u) and normal (v) to the wall at the entry of my grid and the upper edge of the rectangular grid.

I tried to specify a fixed value for v at the upper boundary by changing the matrix that I'm using for my continuity equation, but it didn't work.

Can you please give me a hint on how the boundary conditions at these positions should look like.

Is it even possible to calculate such a flow (at angle of attack + specified pressure gradient) with the boundary layer equations?

Cheers!

Well, why don't you try the other way! Let the flow be parallel to x-axis and let your flat plate be tilted. This is usually the better way. In this case, pressure gradient BC should hold just like the previous case as far as I can see.
