How different is the fluid flow around a cylinder with square cross section as compared to a flow around same with circular crossection??

Short answer is: very different! It also depends on what you're trying to do with (and get out of) your simulation, the Reynolds number range, and the orientation of the square with respect to the free stream. Try google!
