Laminar Velocity Profile over a flat plate
Hi guys,
I'm going to simulate the laminar flow over a flat plate. But I was just wondering about the velocity profile with zero pressure gradient. I know that Blasius provided a similarity solution and found the thickness as a function of distance from the leading edge. But how about the velocity as a function of the wall-normal distance. Is there a function for it? Is it for instance parabolic? Is there an exact solution for u as a function of wall-normal distance? Thanks. Nick |

the solution is described in any good texbook of fluid dynamics, you can use the similar solution technique to express the unique function f(eta), being eta the transformed normal-to-wall coordinate |
