Lattice Boltzmann methods for high Reynolds number flows

Hello everybody,

I am working in a problem with air jet velocity=160 m/s and Reynolds number range is (50000:120000).

Is Lattice Boltzmann methods suitable for simulation of this flow in my case?

Thank you,

Best regards,
Osama

I am not an expert of LBM but as long as I know the least expensive turbulence model implemented is a LES so expect to have a very very fine mesh and very very small time steps in order to capture the spatial scales required. You would need a powerful machine to achieve this.
