Hello,

Does anybody know how to implemente a Bingham rheology law in a finite volume software ?

Actually, I try to implemente that trough the apparent viscosity.

Hi,

I have implemented Bingham rheology in Fluent5 with great success. According to me, "through the apparent viscosity" is the easiest (but definitively efficient) way to account this kind of constitutive equation in non-newtonian flows.

I am using a regularization law too in order to make the constitutive equation continuous (an exponential model from Papanastasiou). Thus, you can calculate the stress (or the apparent viscosity) even in zones where the stresses are smaller then the yield stress (that is to say where the shear strain is close to zero).

It gives very satisfactory results!!
