Can anybody direct me to an article / book on how to treat enthalpy based energy equation in numerical solution.

any help is appreciated.

I think you should state your question a little more specific. Do you:
> need information on the actual statement of the enthalpy based energy equation?
> need information on discretisation for FV/FD/FE methods?
> need information on the actual solution of the resulting system of equations
> need other information, etc. ...

Right now from what I assume is that you need general information on this topic, so I would recommend books that cover all the questions above. A good start would be "Computational Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer" by Richard H. Pletcher.

If you get more specific with your question it might be easier for other users to give recommendations.

I need advice on discretisation, my current approach is using quick scheme for convective fluxes (enthalpy) and include them in the source term, which means I take temperature as primary unknown and update enthalpy after each iteration(inner loop). is this correct?

I have written a working SIMPLE code which uses temperature based energy equation, I want to change that to entalpy/temperature based energy equation.

you can use the equation for the total energy rho*(Cv*T + V^2/2), the advantage is that you can use the conservative form

Thanks for advice but I can't do that for supercritical fluid flow, I calculate h from a multiparameter equation of state.

I don't know about this kind of problem but I am quite confident you can define a specific total energy of the supercritical fluid system by defining properly the internal energy from your multiparameter equation of state
