TVD and turbulence models

Default TVD and turbulence models

Is it compatible to use a turbulence model with TVD schemes given that the latter is an inherently artificial viscosity method? I am trying to model a supersonic free jet using TVD schemes and the jet doesn't seem to decay.

That is the correct result!! - TVD schemes have such low numerical viscosity that a shear layer will not develop if you are solving Euler only. I ran the same simulation (supersonic jet) several years ago while testing my TVD code to obtain a measure of its numerical viscosity, and I was very pleased with the result. An underlying TVD scheme is ideal for a compressible Navier Stokes code, because you see the effects of physical viscosity only.
