Flow around a sphere and a circular cylinder
Hi guys,
I am wondering how relevant is the flow around a sphere and a circular cylinder. Suppose the same up-coming flow velocity. The flow can pass around the sphere in all directions, but not for a cylinder. Hence, Vs < Vc, and then the momentum on the sphere is smaller. As a result, the flow separates earlier on the sphere. Does that make sense? Thanks a lot. |
