Scaling volume fraction in Multiphase flows

Hello, Solving vf equation in multiphase flows (say 2 phases) in a segregated manner leads to over/under shoot in the values of the vf's. now that sum (vf) should be 1, how does one adjust the vf's to achieve this. Although, I do know about the easy scaling based on the sum of vfs, I am looking at other methods to adjust the volume fraction limits since the sum scaling leads to mass loss in the cell.

Any ideas?

You can use the CICSAM scheme. Take a look at: http://openfvm.sourceforge.net/
