Hi,
I'm trying to get gambit working under linux but get the following error: LANG en_US.UTF-8 changed temporarily to en_US for gambit use. Starting /usr/Fluent.Inc/gambit2.4.6/lnamd64/gambit ... /usr/Fluent.Inc/gambit2.4.6/lnamd64/gambit: error while loading shared libraries: libXm.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory A quick look at the FAQ's on Fluent's site mentions something about needing to install openmotif. However, "rpm -qa | grep openmotif" yields; openmotif-demos-2.3.1-1 openmotif-devel-2.3.1-1 openmotif-2.3.1-1 so I think thats installed already. The FAQ's also say that the directory /usr/X11R6/lib64/ should have the file libXm.so.3 in it. However "ls /usr/X11R6/lib64/" yields; modules only. where do I get the required file from. I'm using fedora 8 by the way. Thanks very much in advance for any help. Alex |

Sometimes the default location for installation of certain files are changed on different linux distros. Did you search your system for existence of the file libXm.so.3 . If you have it somewhere else make sure its executable and create a link in the required directory to point to that file. Hope this helps.
