Flow through multiple holes
Hi,
Not sure if you can help me but here is my question. I am looking for a basic model CFD or otherwise to model/understand the effect of fluid flow through multiple holes. The problem is I have reservoir of gas which then goes into a chamber through multiple holes and I am interested in how the different holes interact with each other e.g. how the size of the holes and the spacing of the holes effect the behaviour of gas flow into the chamber. I am looking for some code or even a basic empirical model to understand this. I appreciate that an exact solution to this problem will depend on geometry but I just want to understand general trends e.g. a some point when the holes are widely separated they will act as single holes whereas when you bring them closer together then they will start to behave as one. Thanks for your help in advance. Matthew |
Re: Flow through multiple holes
multiple holes in a series?..or a perforated plate?

Re: Flow through multiple holes
You can use 'Porous Media' approach. With this approach you can see the behaviour of the gas by varying size of the holes as well as gap between holes.

Re: Flow through multiple holes
Hey I was wondering if you found out the relationship between an x amount of holes of various diameter sizes and the flow rate coming out of the holes. -Josh
