I'm nearly finished with a master's in physics. For my thesis, I worked on a program in C++ using parallel programming, but it that had nothing to do with fluid dynamics. However, CFD seems pretty interesting to me and I have taken undergrad courses in heat transfer and fluid dynamics.

Despite my lack of an engineering background, would I still have a chance at CFD roles? Perhaps ones that need someone with scientific computing experience in C++, applied math/numerical linear algebra and parallel computing? If so, what companies could I apply for? Most CFD roles I've seen require engineering degrees, except for perhaps jobs at CD Adapco

And what can I do to better prepare myself for these roles? Take fluid dynamics courses on coursera?

Yes, I have degree in chemical engineering and never did any CFD related course. Also did computer science 101 as my only programming course.

Working in CFD for 15 years and counting.
