Which turbulence model is suitable for structured surface pool boiling simulation

This is a generalized question related to CFD.

I am trying to simulate Pool Boiling simulation over structured surface having micro-grooves using RPI wall boiling model. I did the minimum cell size calculation with Y+ equation (assuming Y+=30) and found out that the cell size should be around 3 mm.

However, the structured surface has micro-grooves of 0.5 mm. This means mesh will go much below the recommended value of 3 mm.

In that case, what will be the best approach to select Turbulence model?

The best approach to select a turbulence model is always:

▶ To read some review papers about turbulence models applied in similar cases to yours.
▶ Or, Conduct your own numerical test and compares with experimental results.

Then the mesh sizes go much below 3mm and yplus will be much lower than say 1. It hardly matters, if the solver offers low re formulation for wall then use that or just use all re (or all yplus) formulation and solver shall take care of walls.

You do not have to have yplus of 30 or any fixed number as long as its not too high. (it all depends on case in question).
