Hi,
I want to simulate flow from nozzle into ambient (air at atmospheric conditions). The intend is to study various properties like velocity, pressure distributions and also the trubulence structures of water jet.

I'm new to CFD softwares and hence not sure which one would be the best for such a flow simulation. I have choice of FLUENT, CFX, Star CCM and OpenFOAM in front of me.

The flow is expected to be turbulent, Reynolds number in the range of 5000-20000 (approx.).

Thanks in advance !!

A pretty broad question as all software you mentioned have relative advantages or capabilities.. CFX & Fluent are perhaps more common (& could easily accommodate the model you intend to simulate) considering the user-friendly GUI & availability of tutorials/benchmarks/examples...
