Which CFD Tool

Hello everybody,

I just registered at this forum to get help for a decision, which tool to use for a specific simulation.

I appreciate your effort very much.

Simulation of a optoelectronic sensor, which should consider: (sorted in decreasing priority)

- heat in materials and fluids, when turning on and off the sensor (as power dissipation on electronic components)
- condensation of watervapor as part of humid air on surfaces and its latent heat
- desorption of watervapor out of polymeric materials due to temperature increase of the material (decreasing solubulity of water with increasing temperature)
- fluent of humid air inside and outside (the fluent of the condensat/liquid water doesn't have to be considered, as the filmthickness is very thin; I just have to simulate the local places where condensation occurs)

I have already tried to simulate it with FloEFD, however the part of waterdesorption can be considered properly within FloEFD. I know there are many phenomenons, which have to be considered in one simulation, however every single one influences the other. Therefore the coupling of them seems to be important.

Can someone tell m,e which tool in general to use, beside FloEFD. I have already thought about Ansys Icepak.

Thank you! Great regards
