No surface representation

Hi guys

Im hoping somebody might be able to help me out with a basic enough meshing problem. I imported in a cad file of a plug flow reactor for the saponification of ethyl acetate reaction. When I try to run to run the mesh the program tells me that no surface representation is available for meshing. Any help is appreciated.

what mesh generation package are you using? in any case, you need surfaces for a 3d geometry. I would normally export my geom files as *.ACIS or *.SAT format. IGES too

Hi David, thanks for your reply. I am using the thin prism layer polyhedral mesher, tthe geometry files were given as CAD files, how do you import in the other formats

if it is a CAD file, it should be in some readable format that most CAD softwares are able to process. Use autoCAD or Solidworks for example and save the file as a format that your mesher is able to read.
