Investigating sedimentation process with CFD

I need some help in setting up CFD simulation of sedimentation process. My first concern is choosing the right CFD software. Please which CFD software handles sedimentation best. I was thinking of learning OpenFoam to investigate this. Please advise. Thank you.

Dear Banjooke

I will suggest you,STAR-CCM+ ,OpenFOAM,I am also working in sedimentation modeling in the lake.

I am working with STAR-CCM+ only right now latter I will do in OpenFOAM
