Quasi-3D approach for solving stream surface of blade is what you are referring to. Look at reports UNSFLO from Mike Giles and Rodrick V Chima's quasi-3d turbomachinery papers.

By the way I need to create a continuous contraction of the z height of the mesh in order to simulate the stream tube contraction due to the AVDR. Is it possible using ICEM to extrude the mesh in order to have a 2D mesh in the XY plane and variable thickness in Z direction? M. |
