NSE and SWE

Hello !

I am interesting to learn more about Navier stokes equation and their applications, I have a question...

I suppose we have a shallow water, for me is logical to use shallow water equation and solve the given problem. But sometimes I read in some paper the author use the NSE and not the approximation (SWE)
its more accurate or precis?? I can't see the reason
Thank you for help me

best regards

yes, SWE are nothing else that a simplified derivation of the original NSE.

Thank you sir :)
And what is the difference between SWE and Boussineq equations? ((twice can transform the problem from 3D to 2D))
