Lift Cylinder in Liquid using ANSYS
 

Dear Everyone,

I would like to model a cylinder being pulled out of a liquid using ANSYS.

In this process the cylinder should be sitting vertically in the middle of a basin. The base of the cylinder should rest on the bottom of the basin and the top of the cylinder should stick out of the liquid.

Then I would like to lift the cylinder up a good way so that the fluid can flow underneath the cylinder.

By this I want to estimate the forces that the liquid has on the cylinder, e.g. the gravitation, the vacuum being created, the surface tension and the additional weight of remaining fluid on the cylinder.

The real life example would be a 3D printed green body from a resin of ceramic and a monomer that gets cured with UV light. After the monomer has been cured the printed model is lifted up a few millimeters until new resin can flow under the structure and be cured again.

Has anyone modelled something similar before?
Can someone point me in towards a good tutorial?
