Non-Newtonian fluids can be very tricky if they include memory effects (think cake batter or corn starch mixtures) If your fluid has a simple viscosity function (function of maybe termperature or composition), SIMPLE should not be a problem. CFD techniques for more complicated rheologiesl can be very specialized because the non-linear effects of the stress-strain relationships can overwhelm the "normal" non-linearity and inter-field coupling present due to momentum transport and pressure-velocity interaction and solution approaches will need to take that into account. I can't offer you much more advise along those lines because I haven't had to deal with them before. |

Dear Michael,
Thank you for your helpful reply. Could you please introduce me a paper or a source which used the SIMPLE algorithm in cylindrical coordinate? I really appreciate your help. |
