Hello, iam under serious time pressure with my diploma thesis and I would like to accelerate it by using HPC (64-128 cores) Do you know any site that offers ANSYS FLUENT paid computing services? I have 2,5M cells, k-omega transient with 80 000 time steps (5,6M iterations in total approximately) Is that even possible to compute this amount of iterations in 2 weeks?

Can you give a bit more detail about this simulation? Can't suggest you about fluent but FVUS/wildkatze supports fluent mesh files and has what you asked. I have a 32 process machine that I could try but I can only spare that machine for 2 to 3 days. Now the fact that FVUS has hybrid solver that is implicit like fluent plus fractional, it in normal stance should be able to do in half the fluent time. I could try to estimate cost of 1 time step and see if possible. (If you are not hard bound to Fluent only). Wildkatze is very close to fluent in algorithm. |

Yaa you are right you need something faster. I am running a transient VOF case on these 32 threads and so far in 21 hours it has run 200000 timesteps. This case is 100000 cells. So even if I scale things linearly you are looking at around 10 days of simulation time so yes, you need something better to finish in a week. |
