Hi all
Recently, i am using open source MFIX to do some DEM simulations. My model is to simulate a Blast Furnace with lateral gas injection. And my geometry is a cuboid with a square inlet on its left wall. However i don't know how to change the square inlet to a circle inlet to compare my results with experiments? Did anyone know how to deal with that? thanks for any help and suggestions. Kind regards |

You will need to use the cut-cell Cartesian mesh feature in MFIX to represent that geometry.

So is there any simple way to change the square inlet to a circle shape

There is an extensive Cartesian Cut-Cell User's Guide on mfix.netl.doe.gov.
To get the circular inlet, you will have to make a cylinder for the inlet and use the constructive solid geometry feature to add it to the cuboid furnace region. |
