Recently I've been studying the theory behind eddy viscosity models for my undergraduate thesis and I couldn't find an agreement in turbulence literature about which k-epsilon model is the true standard.

The diffusive term of both k and epsilon equations in the standard High-Re k-epsilon model is defined without the molecular viscosity in [1], [2], [3]. On the other hand, in [4] and in the code implemented in both OpenFOAM and CFX they include it. Apart from the molecular viscosity, everything else is the same.

My questions are: what is the difference between the two types? Why does one include it and what implications does it make? Which one is regarded as the true standard k-epsilon model?
