Hi all,

I found that the Beetstra (2007) LBM drag model seems to be the main, or rather, the only LBM drag model that is currently being used. But it has already been 10 years since Beetstra proposed his LBM drag model ("Drag Force of Intermediate Reynolds Number Flow Past Mono- and Bidisperse Arrays of Spheres", R. Beetstra, et al. DOI 10.1002/aic.11065) and so I was searching to find whether there are some new LBM based drag models, for mono-disperse spheres, to know whether they will perform better than Beetstra.

I was able to find the LBM models by:
1)Rong et al.(2013) ("Lattice-Boltzmann simulation of fluid flow through packed beds of uniform spheres: Effect of porosity",L.W. Rong, et al. Chemical Engineering Science 99 (2013) 44–58)
2)Tang et al.(2015) ("A new drag correlation from fully resolved simulations of flow past monodisperse static arrays of spheres",Y. (Yali) Tang, et al., Transport Phenomena and Fluid Mechanics, DOI 10.1002/aic.14645).

Does anyone know whether there are any other LBM based drag models for mono-disperse spheres that was published after Beetstra (2007)?

Hi all,

I found the answer to my own question and I am writing it here so that others who might have the same question will have an answer to look at.

Me and my friend wrote a paper which compares the important drag models that were proposed after Beetstra (2007), namely the ones by Cello et al. (2010), Tenneti et al. (2011), Rong et al. (2013), Tang et al. (2016), and compares them with the drag models by Gidaspow (1994) and Beetstra et al. (2007).
