I am carrying out a three-dimensional transient simulation where there is a periodic flow of fluid through a channel.
I want to calculate total mass transported through feedback channel per cycle. How to calculate it in CFD post ? Thank you |

You can use the velocity through every surface of all boundary elements at the end of the channel. The data is in the <lastTime>/U file. Using this you may integrate the flow and therewith the mass transfer.
If that ist to cumbersome for you, you may generate an equidistant grid of velocity using the sample tool and the sampleDict file.

thank you for your answer. I am looking at integrating the flow.
Can you elaborate on how to find required velocity? To find average velocity through the plane which CFD post function is used. area(velocity) or areaAve(velocity) or only the perpendicular component of velocity is used. Thank you |
