Meshing issue- Sweepable and unspeepable bodies

Hi everyone,

I was hoping that someone could help me with mymesh issue.

I have a somewhat complicated geometry. I am modelling a series of fibers within a cartridge (in other words, a bunch of cylinders in one big cylinder).

I am having issues with meshing since the fibers themselves are sweepable but the area outside of it is not. This is causing the mesh quality to be poor, a mix of tetra (outside of the fibers) and quad (inside of the fibers), leading to high skewness.

Does anyone have an idea of what is the best approach to mesh these different parts so that the formation is smooth and quality is maintained? Thank you in advance!

It may be that you don't need to simulate the flow within the fibres. Consider to handle them as Hagen–Poiseuille tubes.

Hi piu58, thank you for the suggestion. The fibers are with a porous medium, so I am simulating flow not only axially through the fibers but also radially through the membrane portion to elucidate the behavior of flow in the collection tube.
