Hi @all,

I am thinking about how to deal with flows of high Prandtl Number fluids like water, oil, etc. regarding wall treatment (meshing, etc.).

As we know for higher Prandtl Numbers the thermal boundary layer is much thinner than the momentum boundary layer.

When I want to use a low Re Model for the wall treatment I try to have my first integration point around y+ ~ 1. And I try to get enoug prism layers to catch the whole velocity boundary layer.

Do i also resolve the thermal boundary layer with this approach correcly?
In my opinion for resolving the thermal boundary for fluid with higher prandtl i should have enough prisms to catch the whole thermal boundary layer because its thinner. Right?l
But what about the first cell. Does the first cell hast to be much smaller, too?

Is there anything comparative like y+ ~ 1 for the thermal boundary layer.

Thanks a lot for the help!
