Hi all,
I am working on the validation of a turbulence model for passive scalar transport. Apart from the basic cases as fully developed channel flow with heated walls, ht in turbulent boundary layers, passive scalar transport in urban canopies/ cubical obstacles etc, what could be some interesting cases to look at? Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks, |

Stirred tanks? There's a bunch of literature out there, e.g. Coroneo et al. 2011, Jahoda et al. 2007, Kukukova et al. 2005 that provide experimental and CFD data for mixing in turbulent, single phase stirred tanks. For solely experimental, there's a lot more, and if you want to complicate things further, add aeration. The drawback of the cases is that tracer dispersion is typically not locally measured. There are a few studies that add multiple probes (Yeoh et al if I'm correct, and Coroneo uses a 2D-PLIF method), but the full data may be hard to acquire.
