Hello Foamers.
I have a problem though, I am getting an error while trying to load an stl file into paraview. Here is the error.
ERROR: In /home/openfoam/OpenFOAM/ParaView-5.0.1/VTK/IO/Geometry/vtkSTLReader.cxx, line 461
vtkSTLReader (0x62f35a0): STLReader: error while reading file /home/larry/Desktop/owc.stl at line 3: unable to read point.

ERROR: In /home/openfoam/OpenFOAM/ParaView-5.0.1/VTK/Common/ExecutionModel/vtkExecutive.cxx, line 784

Your help in how to go about this problem will greatly be appreciated.

Greetings larry k,

I only now managed to take a look into your question. I hope you've solved the problem by now, but if not, it would be necessary to open the STL file with a text editor and take a look inside it to understand why it's not working.

The page for it at Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STL_(file_format) - has a fairly detailed explanation on what to expect inside the file.

If you haven't solved this issue since then and if you still need help, then please share the first 5-10 lines of the STL ascii file, unless it's in binary format.

Best regards,
Bruno

Hello Bruno,
Thanks for your response. I got a solution to it, apparently my geometry was not a closed surface but I sorted it out.
Kind regards.
