Re: FREE HEAT TRANSFER SAFTWARE

(1). All I know is that people are using structure finite element code to solve heat conduction problems. There are several such commercial FEM code available, such as ANSYS. (2). But these are very general code for general 3-D geometry. And I don't think it is free. (3). But ANSYS has a student version which also comes with the book, and the price was about the cost of a book. In other words, it's affordable. I think I still have a student version on the computer (version 5.3, something like that). (4). You can search the Internet for the information about the book publisher, or contact ANSYS people. I used the code and went through some sample cases with no problems. But then, this was a couple of years ago, when I was interested in getting the feel of the code only. (5). By the way, there are several free ANSYS courses offered on Internet by colleges, with examples. I am only sharing with you my personal experience. So, you should not be limited by the code I mentioned here.
