Hi, SU2 (openSource) has a very good adjoint solver, look for this code in google. If you have some money to spend, than ansys should have something similar as well.

Thank you very much!
But I found out that Ansys adjoint solver can be used only for incompressible flows. Has situation changed and the Ansys latest release can be applied for shape optimization in compressible flows? Regards |

Sorry forgot to reply. I do not know much about ansys, but you can solve your doubt with a quick search into the user guide. In any case, SU2 is design for compressible flows and optimization, thus at least woth a try!

Hi;
In general there are different optimizer tools with different approaches that can be coupled with different CFD solvers to conduct shape optimization problems. Optimizers are general tools and has nothing to do with flow solvers. Among the free optimizer codes I can name of the package introduced by North Dakota university. In case there exists enough money some tools like Isight (a Simulia product), Visual Doc or Matlab can be used. Regards |
