where to start!

Dear CFD workers,

I work on the flow between eccentric rotating cylinders (related to journal bearing problems). I have used some analytical technique to solve such problems. I am interested in computing the results numerically. should I enter into finite element or finite volume technique to do so. I would also like to know people who are working in similar problems. Is there any specific package for such problems. Please let me know. My thanks to all those who attempt to reply!

Re: where to start!

(1). I think you don't have to solve the full Navier-Stokes equations for the journal bearing problem. (2). It is easier to use finite difference or finite volume methods on the structured mesh (between the shaft and the bearing) for the reduced equation. (2). It is not going to hurt by using commercial cfd codes solving full Navier-Stokes equations.
