Heat Transfer on fluid-solid interface

Default Heat Transfer on fluid-solid interface

Hello everyone,

I am working on computational codes of heat transfer through a fluid-solid interface. On the interface, is the fluid temperature equal to the solid temperature? or a temperature difference? or depends on flow regime? or others? I am very confused about this issue.

At interfaces you have an interface condition. I.e. conservation of energy on both sides or whatever. I guess in your example it would be conservation of heat flux. So neither the temperature nor the temperature difference (because thermal conductivity can be different for fluid and solid).


Interface conditions are like boundary conditions and governing equations. They are decided at a very high-level and quite independent of the code itself.

indeed, I adopted the equation of heat flux conservation. I am wondering the node of the interface which is shared by the fluid domain and solid domain, that means on the interface the fluid temperature is the same with solid temperature. please see the following picture, am I correct? Thanks again.
