One way FSI and Two Way FSI
 

Can Anyone explain the difference between the One Way FSI and Two Way FSI?
Because I am working on a project which deals with a Pulsating Pressure Flow of Gas inside the Pipeline. To do so I am in the requirement of the the above difference!!!

In one-way FSI, you start by assuming your body is absolutely rigid. You do CFD and get a flow solution around your body and you record the pressure on its surfaces over time. You then take these pressure forces now as a boundary condition for your structural solver and solve the solid mechanics problem and watch the body deform under the load.


In two-way FSI, every time-step you solve the flow, you solve for how this deforms the surface, then you update the geometry in the CFD. In two-way FSI, you can capture how the deformation of the body affects the flow.
