Define interface between two non conformal meshes

Hello everyone,

Does anybody have any idea about how to define an interface between non-conformal meshes (e.g Tetra and Hexa) without moving the interface in OpenFOAM?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Amr,

If the interfaces are adjacent, you can use arbitrary mesh interpolation (AMI). If the meshes are overlapping then use overset. If you want to make the two meshes conforming, you can either add hanging nodes or a layer of pyramids at the interface.

Best, Mikko

Hello Mikko,

Perfect. Is this fit the cyclicAMI type or there is another type to be used? knowing that the two sides of the mesh are static and not moving
