Hello Everyon,

I am trying to solve 1-dimension, inviscid and compressible Navier-Stokes equation using the ode45 function in MATLAB. I have derived the necessary governing equation and have attached them in the post.

I would like to use Peng-Robinson EOS instead of ideal gas EOS. But it is much more complicated to differentiate and so I was wondering if:
1. I could simply use Peng-Robinson to find the compressibility factor (Z)
2. substitute it into ideal gas EOS (P= Z*rho*R*T)
3. differentiate the above term keeping Z and R as constant

Would the above approach work? If not, then how do we normally incorporate real gas EOS into Navier-Stokes?
