Analysis of helicopter downwash on underslung loads
Hi there, I am using STAR-CCM+, and currently working on a project to study the effects of the downwash from helicopter rotors on its underslung load. The aim to predict the rotation of the underslung load during heli-lifting. Currently, I am using blade element method to simulate the rotors in flight, and able to visualise the flow around the heli body and its underslung load. I am only able to make predictions on the load rotation behaviour by observing the pressure field around it.
I am hoping to get some advice on how I can proceed from here to get more in-depth results, ie. dynamic motion. Is it possible to combine blade element method with DFBI? P.S I am not an expert in CFD. All my knowledge(or lack thereof) thus far have been from STAR-CCM+ tutorials and manuals. Thanks in advance! |
