Internal Energy vs. Enthalpy

Hi All,
As far as I know, energy equation is preferred in the form of internal energy for solving highly compressible flows, while the enthalpy form is preferred for subsonic flows. Does anyone know why? Thanks in advance. Tommy |

Unfortunately, I did not found it on any reference, but only on the slides of a professor. Thus, I would like to know if this assumption is true and, if it is so, why.
