Hlw everyone,

This is my first post in this forum. Please ignore any mistake.

I am trying to do a marine resistance prediction analysis using star ccm Plus. It is a tritoon boat. I followed all the steps in tutorial guide and done it more than 10 times. But every time my virtual towing tank displaces from the original location.

I have followed each and every step described in tutorial and enabled the option for wave damping. But still getting the same error. I have attached an image of the distortion. Can anyone have a look at the image and tell me why this could happen and how to solve it?

Regards
Taufiq

You can find it on the Siemens Support Center in the downloads section, where you can download the bundle with tutorial files.

In that particular tutorial, you create the geometry of the towing tank yourself following the instructions in the tutorial (instructions are in the pdf manual, which also is to be found at the Support Center).

Displacement of the towing tank is the main point of that tutorial I think. This is a modelling technique that starccm has. otherwise, to simulate the boat motion you should have use overset mesh.
