Hi.
I'm developing a code that should be able to calculate combustion processes, specifically diffusion flames. For this I'm using a code which was mainly developed for calculations on cartesian 2 and 3D meshes.
I would like to validate my implementation with two well stabilised test cases
-counter diffusion flame ( https://static-01.hindawi.com/articles/jc/volume-2014/484372/figures/484372.fig.001.jpg)
Coflow flame ( https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Thomas_Fiala/publication/280922843/figure/fig4/AS:650481005256705@1532098165068/Schematic-setup-of-a-typical-under-ventilated-jet-flame-with-annular-co-flow.png)
I usually read in the literature that those cases are calculated using an axisymmetric coordinate system (solving usually for r-Z).
My problem is that I'm not sure if I can really calculate and compare my results with the axyssimetric cases. For the counter diffusion flame I would intuitively say that at least in the centerline the results from an axisymmetric and cartesian (x-y) systems should be the same. For the rest I'm not so sure.
Any help and comments are much appreciated
