Torque Conveter reasearch

I work for a Torque Converter reconditioning co. in Australia. I design and produce "High Stall/High Performance" Torque conveters. Wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of some research/facts/figures in this field. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks, Mark

Check out SAE since 1992. My recollection is that the first seminal paper on the subject was by Toyota (or one of the other Japanese auto companies). It is a nice introduction to the challange of this calculation, and shows results for their designs. I also believe that Star-CD did a significant project on Torque converters around 1995-6 and I have seen some pretty pics on one of their posters that I assume is the output of that work.

This is not an easy calculation due to the importance of time dependent effects between rotor and stator blades with a gap that is very tight Good luck.
